How the business name generator works

From a blank page to a name you can actually register in three steps.

1. Describe your business

Tell Nymly what you do, your industry, and the vibe you are going for. A few words is enough.

2. Generate name ideas

AI returns memorable, on-brand business names tuned to your description, not generic word salad.

3. Check availability instantly

Every name is checked for domain and social handle availability in the same step, so you can claim it right away.

Why founders use Nymly to name their business

Names that fit your industry

The AI understands context, so suggestions sound like a real business in your space, not a random dictionary mashup.

Instant domain checks

See the .com result the moment a name is generated, and choose from nine more extensions to check. No copying names into a separate domain tool.

Social handle checks

Check the matching handle on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, GitHub and Patreon, so your brand is consistent from day one.

What Nymly checks for every name

Three things people ask about, said plainly: what is checked, what it costs, and what is not covered.

Domains

The .com is checked for every name and shown beside it. You can also check .io, .ai, .co, .net, .org, .app, .dev, .tech and .online.

Each extension check costs $0.0005 from your balance.

Social handles

Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, GitHub and Patreon. The first four are on by default.

Instagram cannot be verified without a login, so you get a link to open and it is never charged. The other checks cost $0.002 each.

Not covered, trademarks

Nymly does not search trademarks. A free domain and free handles do not mean you can use the name.

Search the USPTO trademark database and the WIPO Global Brand Database first.

You pick the quality of the names too. Standard is the default and runs on your free balance. Refined and Finest are sharper and run on a topped up balance, and what changed in the chat has the details.

Before you commit to a business name

A name that passes these five is a safer one to build on. Nymly covers steps two and three.

  1. Say it, then ask someone to spell it. If it takes an explanation, it is harder to pass on by word of mouth.
  2. Check the .com. If it is taken, decide on a fallback now, not after you print the cards. Our domain availability guide compares the extensions.
  3. Check the handles. The same name on every platform you will use, or a plan for the ones you cannot get. The username availability guide shows how.
  4. Check that nobody owns it. Search the USPTO and WIPO databases, and take a close match to a lawyer.
  5. Live with it for a few days. A name that still sounds right after a week is worth the domain fee.

What makes a good business name?

The best business names are short, easy to say and spell, and distinctive in their category. Just as important, they are actually available: a great name with no matching domain or social handle is a dead end. Nymly checks availability as it generates, so every suggestion is one you can claim.

Business name generator FAQ

Is the business name generator free to use?

Free to start. You get a $0.25 balance when you sign up, about 40 chat messages on the Standard quality tier, and no card is needed. After that you top up when you want to, $5 or $20, and there is no subscription.

Does it check if the domain is available?

Yes. The .com is checked for every name Nymly suggests and shown beside it. You can also check .io, .ai, .co, .net, .org, .app, .dev, .tech and .online. Each check costs $0.0005 from your balance.

Can I check social media handles too?

Yes, on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, GitHub and Patreon. Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and LinkedIn are on by default. Instagram cannot be verified without a login, so Nymly shows a link to open and does not charge for it. Each other check costs $0.002.

What makes a good business name?

A good business name is short, easy to say and spell, and distinctive in its category. It is also available as a domain and as a handle on the platforms you will use. A great name with nothing free to match it is a dead end.

What if the .com I want is taken?

You have four moves. Pick another extension, change the name, add a word, or try to buy the .com. Our guide to a taken .com walks through each one, and our post on .io and .ai covers the two most common fallbacks.

Do I need to check trademarks before I pick a name?

Yes. A free domain does not mean you can use the name. Nymly does not search trademarks, so before you commit, search the USPTO trademark database and the WIPO Global Brand Database, and take a close match to a lawyer.

How is this different from other AI name generators?

Nymly puts the .com result beside every name and lets you choose which extensions and platforms to check, so you see what is free before you settle. Our roundup of the best AI business name generators compares the main options.
